Brother Yun - Meadowbank Sports Centre, 22 April 2005 -report

News - Recording of April's Event now available here

Brother Yun at Edinburgh's Meadowbank Sports Centre.

Brother Yun ministered powerfully at Meadowbank Sports Centre to a crowd of 2000 on Friday 22nd April. On a great night for the church in Edinburgh, many were touched and encouraged by the passion of Brother Yun's message and the subsequent ministry, with many rededicating their lives to the Lord.

Because demand for tickets outstripped supply, we realise many of you couldn't join us on the night, so we have posted some pictures of the evening.

Brother Yun PreachingBrother Yun, authour of the book "The Heavenly Man" has been arrested by the Chinese authorities more than 30 times and has suffered long periods of torture and imprisonment on account of his faith.

He became a Christian at an early age and, against all odds, has shared his faith to countless fellow Chinese people despite constant warnings from the authorities.

Voted the UK's 'Christian Book of the year', 'The Heavenly Man' tells how God took a young, half-starved boy from a poor village and used him to preach the Gospel to China.

Brother Yun is one of China's house Church leaders, a man who despite his relative youth has suffered prolonged torture and imprisonment for his faith. His account of the situation in China, where international economic investment ignores the brutal fact that religious persecution is still a daily reality for millions. Instead of focusing on the many miracles or experiences of suffering, however, Yun prefers to emphasise the character and beauty of Jesus.
